Direct-to-Garment Printing, or DTG, is printing a digital image onto t-shirts. There is a one-time printer setup fee for the initial order and no setup costs for reorders. Small order runs and one-offs make it inexpensive for smaller-sized companies only needing a small print run. Learn more about our same-day printed t-shirts.
Detailed colorful images such as photographs, complex company logos, and illustrations are perfect for DTG, which can print over 16 million colors. Our printers use a water-based ink that is certified non-toxic and biodegradable, which produces a soft, lightweight print that is environmentally friendly and great for kids.
WHICH IS BETTER, DTG OR SCREEN-PRINTING?
DIRECT-TO-GARMENT
Direct-to-Garment: this is not the same as screen printing. The computerized process allows for quantities of one to 100 t-shirts since there are no screen setups. Detailed designs work best and customers that require ecologically safe water-based inks.
SCREEN-PRINTING
Screenprinting: making a screen, spreading ink onto a t-shirt, and using a different screen to apply individual ink colors one at a time. The inks merge to complete the final design. The more colors a logo has, the more screens are needed, hence, the additional setup time.
