The staff at Northwest Custom Apparel has a long history of supporting local schools and teams. When the Fife High School Football team made the 2017 playoffs, we were honored to help them celebrate. We worked with them to create a limited-edition T-shirt and hoodie design that captured the excitement and community spirit of their amazing season. This project shows how custom apparel can do more than just promote a team—it can create a lasting memory and a sense of pride for everyone involved.
The Challenge: Capturing the Spirit of the Team
The goal was to create a design that was more than just a logo on a shirt. We wanted to celebrate the team’s success by making a piece of apparel that fans would be proud to wear. The design featured the classic Fife logo on the front and the number 12 on the back, but with a unique twist. We aimed to give the number a “real looking texture of a football” to make it feel special and authentic to the sport. Achieving this level of detail requires precision and the right technology.
The Solution: Direct-to-Garment Printing
To get that unique texture and high-quality detail, we decided to use our advanced direct-to-garment (DTG) printing process. Unlike traditional screen printing, which uses a single color at a time, DTG printing works much like a regular inkjet printer. It sprays ink directly onto the fabric, allowing for complex and photo-realistic designs. This was the perfect choice for the Fife High School project because it let us create that fine, textured look for the football graphic on the back of the hoodies.
