Plastisol is the most reliable method for decorating hoodies at volume. It lays a thick, opaque layer of ink directly on the fleece surface, which is why white and light-colored logos actually show up on dark hoodies. Unlike DTG printing, which absorbs into fabric fibers, plastisol sits on top of the fleece with enough ink deposit to cover the garment’s dye completely.
Every hoodie at NW Custom Apparel runs through a conveyor dryer that maintains a consistent temperature profile during curing. We test ink temperature regularly during each run to confirm full cure before the order ships. A properly cured plastisol print does not crack, peel, or fade for the life of the garment.

Puff printing adds a raised, three-dimensional texture to your design by mixing a heat-reactive puff additive into standard plastisol ink. When the hoodie passes through the conveyor dryer at 320°F, the puff additive expands and lifts the design off the fabric surface, creating a tactile, dimensional effect that flat printing cannot replicate.
Puff print works best on midweight and heavyweight hoodies (7.5 oz. and above) because the thicker fleece surface supports the raised ink without distortion. The SS4500 and IND4000 from Independent Trading are the most popular blanks for puff print orders.

Your design file is reviewed by our production team for screen printing compatibility. Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) produce the sharpest results. We separate your artwork by color and burn each color onto its own mesh screen. A 3-color design means 3 screens, each requiring precise registration on the press before the first hoodie runs.
We set up the press for your specific blank — adjusting for garment thickness, fleece weight, and ink deposit requirements — and run a sample print before the production run begins. You receive a pre-production sample for approval. No full run starts without your sign-off.
Our automatic presses produce hundreds of hoodies per hour once setup is confirmed. Every hoodie passes through the conveyor dryer at a controlled temperature to cure the plastisol ink completely. We test ink cure temperature during the run, not just at the start.

At 24 pieces, pricing is higher per unit but still available for qualifying orders. We provide a simple, all-inclusive quote. You pay for the garment and the print. We do not hide fees for screen setup or simple art preparation.

Our production time is 10 to 14 business days from the moment you approve your art. We can usually accommodate rush orders depending on our current production schedule. For smaller teams or logos that require a more textured, premium finish, we recommend choosing custom embroidered sweatshirts and hoodies instead of ink.
We do not recommend printing over zippers or pockets. The uneven surface causes the ink to pool and gap, resulting in a messy print. For zip-up hoodies, we suggest printing on the left chest and the full back. If you require a seamless print across the front, we recommend choosing a pullover hoodie style.
